•    When leaving for surgery, make sure your home is clean and all your laundry is done.

•    Anything that you have to reach up for must be put on a countertop or table, as it will be uncomfortable to reach up until about a week after surgery.

•    Make sure your home is well-stocked with food. Remember that you will be taking small, frequent meals. No spicy or fried foods! Cooking and freezing meals for microwaving is also a good idea since frozen meals are low in sodium.

Most plastic surgeons prefer to use natural materials for nasal augmentation. This material is called an autologus graft, and is usually harvested from the patient’s nasal septal cartilage, ear cartilage, ribs, or bone. While autologus grafts are better accepted by the patient’s body and have a less chance of infection; they do partially re-absorb or shrink.
